Engine test benches

Projects and systems developed by ASON.

Allison T-56

Overhaul, modernisation and recommissioning of the bench with new data acquisition, electronic throttle and vibration analysis.

Allison T-56

F-404

Adaptation of a Hush House as an engine test bench, modernising instrumentation and data acquisition.

  • Reversible throttle and spectral analysis
  • Performance curves and video recording

F-404

Instrumentation, data acquisition and engine control for the new Gando bench.

J-85

Progressive bench upgrades covering measurement, control, thermal analysis and automatic thrust calibration.

PW-123 / PW-127 / Makila / CT7-9C

Bench configured and extended for four engine families with dedicated control, electronic throttle and data acquisition.

TFE-731 / TPE-331

Design and construction of an early automated data-acquisition bench, later expanded with electronic control, vibration analysis and CCTV.

Garrett TPE-331 / Allison T56

Turboprop bench with propeller, followed by a dynamometer facility for the C-130 Hercules and P-3 Orion T56 variants.

02 / 04

Systems

Projects and systems developed by ASON.

F402 Pegasus data acquisition

Automatic parameter capture, storage and analysis system, expanded with vibration spectral analysis and time-series monitoring for each engine.

F402 Pegasus data acquisition

INTA turboprop test bench

Engineering leadership associated with the bench and later projects covering starting air, thrust measurement and calibration, and a new docking frame.

Auxiliary service modules

Control and regulation of water, oil, fuel and air, programmable against test conditions and connected to the acquisition system.

03 / 04

Developed equipment

Projects and systems developed by ASON.

Purpose-built equipment

Deployable power, avionics and battery units for unmanned aircraft; portable acquisition developed with ITP; wiring and torque/TGT testers; vibration matrices and touchscreen fuel and air modules.

04 / 04

Mechanical engineering

Projects and systems developed by ASON.

Tail Boom assembly tool

Tooling designed to lift, rotate and assemble the in-flight refuelling system while avoiding unwanted loads and torsion.

Docking Frame duplication

Documented manufacture of an approximately 10-tonne structure for transporting and coupling engines up to 100,000 lb thrust, with quick signal and supply connections.

Engine frames and structures

Design and manufacture of supports and restraints adapted to the loads, facility and specific conditions of each test.
